Title :Vibration Analysis and Its Mode Control to the Design of Flat Plane Speakers

Abstract :Major trends in the cone type dynamic speaker design are the uniresonant cone. And the cone woofer with its radius 30~50cm reproduces the bass tone with the baffle-board or cabinet. On the contrary, a flat plane speaker has wide sound radiation area which can reproduce the bass tone without cabinets. However, the main defects of the plane speaker are their multiresonance of the vibrating membrane. After analysis of the flat plane vibration problems, driving methods to exclude the multi resonance are found; that is, if the plane vibration has been analyzed and the vibration mode U_n has been found, and if the plane were to be driven by the distributed force proportional to the fundamental mode amplitude VI of the membrane, multiresonances V_z, V_3・・・V_∞ don't prove to take place. Within some restricted frequency range, the uniresonance may be expected by the some discretely concentrated driving points as the dynamic drivers.
