Abstract :The electric potential distribution along the central axis or the x-axis in the Osaka-tube is nearly parabolic and thence the electron period is almost independent of the amplitude of electron oscillations. The perfect parabolic distribution is satisfied with the field produced by electrodes having the shape of rectangular-hyperbolic cylinders. The efficiency of this idealized Osaka-tube is larger than that of the normal Osaka-tube which has plane-electrodes. According to a result of our calculation, the electron path in the idealized Osaka-tube is the composition of harmonic oscillations in the x-, the y- and the z-direction. Futhermore, the theoretical values of the wavelength and the magnetic-field intensity needed for oscillation are almost in conformity with the nomal Osaka-tube.
